So, I might be going out on a limb here...

... but I have just listened to "My Humps" for the first time ever, and though I have actually only listened to about a minute and a half so far, I feel confident in asserting that it is a really stupid song.

Can I get a what-what here, people?

what-what, indeed.

I have yet to hear this song the entire way through, but I became familiar with it -- or at least the basic idea of it -- through this slate article: http://www.slate.com/id/2131640/

so no, you are not alone in classifying it as one of THE MOST STUPID SONGS EVER. it may even be stupider than that "macarthur park" song, during the chorus of which the singer bemoans the fate of a cake left out in the rain. it's...I just...brain...imploding...from...stupidity...

I know I am *really* going out on a limb here, but... I think MacArthur Park is actually an OK song. Now, granted, the lyrics are clearly acid-inspired, and there was definitely NO need for Donna Summer to do an inferior cover of it, as the world's MacArthur Park quota had already been quite filled by the Richard Harris original... but all that notwithstanding, I think the basic melody and orchestration are quite nice.

I think the real problem here is that somehow both of you have AVOIDED hearing this song in its entirety up until this late date. I would like to hear more about these rocks under which you both live--sounds cozy.

Regardless, the song sucks. As does the new Fergie "solo" single, London Bridge. Everything that woman touches turns to crap, I believe.
